Trip Overview
Take in the breathtaking scenery of the Everest path without taking on the difficult demands of a strenuous, high-altitude hike. Yes, you can enjoy the wonders of the Everest Region without physically exhausting yourself by participating in our Everest Panorama Trek. Explore the Sherpa settlements at your leisure and discover the rich history of Tibetan Buddhism. Enjoy your stroll through the verdant Dudh Koshi River Valley while taking in the breathtaking vistas of the snow-capped peaks. Take in the breathtaking natural beauty of the Sherpa culture and the Khumbu scenery. You can climb at your own pace without worrying about altitude-related problems because you won’t have to rush to reach a high-altitude destination like Gokyo or Everest Base Camp.
There is a quick flight to Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla before starting the Everest Panorama Trek. The airport, which is perched above a cliff, is thought to be among the world’s most hazardous. As soon as you land in Lukla, you immediately begin your trek. Leave the busy streets behind and walk towards the Dudh (Milky) Koshi River. Stroll beside the Milky River and cross to Phakding, a sizable Sherpa settlement beside the river. Following Phakding, you pass through the villages of Bangkar, Monjo, and Jorsale on your way to Namche Bazaar. Known as the Sherpa capital, Namche is a sizable town with a variety of facilities, including banks, stores, cafes, bakeries, and both affordable and upscale resorts. If you stay another day in Namche, you can hike to Hotel Everest View, which is ranked among the world’s highest luxury hotels. From the hotel’s vantage point, one may enjoy magnificent views of Ama Dablam, Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Thamserku, Kantega, Khumbila, etc. In addition, Namche is home to art galleries and museums that offer a glimpse into the rich history and culture of the Sherpas and the first Everest expeditions.
Your last destination is Tengboche, a quaint town that is home to Tengboche Gompa, the oldest Buddhist monastery in Khumbu. Along the Tengboche trek are views of stunning mountain vistas and landscapes decorated with Buddhist buildings. The dense jungle that surrounds Tengboche is home to numerous endangered species of Himalayan wildlife, such as the Himalayan Tahr, Snow Leopard, Himalayan musk deer, Himalayan monal, Yellow-Throated Marten, Blood Pheasant, and others.
You leave Tengboche and descend to Namche, passing through the Sherpa historic settlements of Kunde and Khumjung. The Sir Edmund Hillary Himalayan Trust selected both of these villages for its development initiatives. The first health center was constructed in Kunde, although the first school in Khumbu was located in Khumjung. Additionally, Khumjung contains a monastery featuring an intriguing display: a Yeti’s scalp (the abominable snowman). You will walk to Lukla by the same route after spending one more night in Namche, then take a flight back to Kathmandu.
For those who are new to hiking in the Everest Region, the short and stunning Everest Panorama Trek is highly recommended. For those who like to see the majesty of Mount Everest without ascending higher than 4,000 meters, this is also an excellent climb. A panoramic view of some of the world’s tallest mountains, including Lhotse and Mount Everest, can be seen from the trail. Spending more time in the charming Sherpa villages might also help you learn more about their distinct way of life.
