Best Time To Trek

The time of year you choose to go trekking will have a big impact on how amazing and unforgettable your trip will be. A poor season decision can ruin a visit for some travelers, but for others, it presents an opportunity to fully experience the Himalayan region’s breathtaking hills, valleys, rivers, and other features.

In general, the best months to go trekking in Nepal are thought to be September through November for the fall and March through May for the spring. The ideal time of year to visit, however, may vary depending on why you are visiting Nepal.

For you, which season is ideal for trekking?

Autumn season (September–November)

This is the ideal time of year to explore Nepal’s splendor to the fullest extent possible. When the weather is clear, dry, and consistent, this is the best time of year. You will be fortunate to have the most breathtaking views of the mountains at this time of year because the sky is clear. The trail isn’t overly slick or too damp either. Views of the verdant valleys, hills, forests, rivers, and waterfalls showcase the exquisite fusion of the natural world’s most exquisite elements.

Winter season (December – February)

In Nepal, the coldest months of the year are December through February. Trekking is also enjoyable during this season if you don’t think the cold is a huge concern. However, because of the extreme cold and snow-covered terrain, trekking to high altitudes is not advised. However, because of the dry weather, this season can be fantastic for people who want to hike at Nepal’s lower altitudes.

Spring season (March – May)

Imagine yourself strolling through a thick forest of rhododendron trees, adorned with vibrant blossoms! Indeed, such can be the case if you decide to visit Nepal between March and May. Although the temperature rises during this time of year, precipitation is still a possibility. The landscape is lush, lovely, and colorful, and the flower blossoms add to the vivid ambiance.

Summer season (June – August)

In general, summer is not the best season to go trekking. As the monsoon arrives, the sky becomes overcast, and the roads become slick and muddy. This time of year is not very charming at all, with leeches in the paths and cloudy views of the mountains.

Nevertheless, the Mission Nepal team is always there for you, regardless of the season. Regardless of the weather—be it bright or cloudy, chilly or damp—we transport you to your favorite locations throughout the year.
