Trip Overview

The Langtang–Gosaikunda–Helambu Trek is a 17-day adventure through some of Nepal’s most diverse and breathtaking landscapes. This journey blends mountain grandeur with deep cultural encounters, taking trekkers from lush forests and ancient monasteries to high alpine lakes and panoramic Himalayan viewpoints.

After arriving in Kathmandu, we explore several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, gaining insight into Nepal’s rich cultural heritage. The trekking journey begins at Syabrubesi, a traditional Tamang village beside the Bhote Koshi River. As we ascend through rhododendron forests and mountain trails, we reach Kyanjin Gompa, a serene Buddhist monastery surrounded by the towering peaks of the Langtang range.

A sunrise hike to Tserko Ri (4,984m) rewards us with breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung (7,200m) and other snow-clad peaks. From here, we trek towards the sacred alpine lakes of Gosaikunda (4,380m)—a revered pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. The turquoise waters of Gosaikunda are believed to have spiritual and healing powers, making it one of the most mystical spots in the Himalayas.

Crossing the Laurebina Pass (4,610m), we enter the tranquil Helambu Valley, known for its Sherpa culture, terraced fields, and warm hospitality. The trek culminates with a climb to Ama Yangri (3,800m)—often called the “Poon Hill of Helambu”—offering a 360° panorama of Mount Shishapangma (8,027m) and the Langtang Himalayas.

After several days exploring the scenic villages and landscapes of Helambu, we return to Kathmandu, completing a memorable journey through Nepal’s central Himalayas.
