Trip Overview

Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek

The Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek is a well-known and difficult trek in Nepal’s Everest region. One of the most well-known and cherished treks in the world, this one leads to the stunning lake known as Gokyo.Hindus hold the Gokyo Lake in the highest regard for their religion. They think that the Naga, the snake god, resides in the Gokyo Lake.It is set in Nepal’s Khumbu area, the home of the Himalayas. This is a wonderful trip that offers the unmatched natural and cultural splendor of Khumbu, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the Everest massifs, and an incredible sight. The trip is breathtaking and motivating from start to finish. It’s unforgettable to experience both the natural beauty and the cultural core. It is an accomplishment in and of itself to be able to see the world’s tallest mountain directly before us.

Your GCP journey starts with a quick, exciting flight to Lukla, the highest airport in the world, which is situated in Nepal. The chilly breeze of the Himalayas greets you. Starting from the routes, the walk leads to base camp via settlements inhabited by ethnic Sherpas. Away from modernity, you can live like a local in a rural highland area. The route passes through farmland that are home to several traditional Buddhist communities, including Kunde, Namche, Khumjung, and Phakdin. The journey’s pinnacle is reached at Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Ri, which are connected to Kalapatthar by Cho La Pass. From the summit of Gokyo Ri, we have the most breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and terrain, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, and Cho Oyo.

The breathtaking Himalayas will keep your eyes wide open the entire way. The breathtaking mountains add an otherworldly charm to the location. It is breathtaking to stroll across suspension bridges, towering ridge lines, and rhododendron forests. Every settlement has a distinct cultural significance and breathtaking views of the mountains. As we continue along the trail, we are greeted and drawn in by stupas, gumbas, and vibrant prayer flags.

Highlights of the Gokyo Cho La Pass Trekking

Every milepost during the journey includes highlights. The Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek showcases the most exceptional aspects of the Khumbu region. The trip starts with a lovely, quick flight to Lukla. The GCP Trek does not follow the standard trekking path.Known for its Sherpas and as the entry point to Mount Everest, Namche Bazaar will be on your itinerary. Additionally, it has historically served as a hub for low-land and Himalayan traders. Gorgeous views of the Ama Dablam, Lhoste, Nuptse, and Mount Everest can be seen from this village.

At 3,962 meters above sea level, the Everest View Hotel offers breathtaking views of Mount Everest from every room’s window. We’ll trek to the hotel so we can take in the majestic elegance of Mount Everest. The 3- to 4-hour hike is a magnificent natural experience.

Trekking the valley of the Imja and Dudh Koshi rivers is an adventure in and of itself. It offers breathtaking views of Everest and Ama Dablam. We see the Himalayas appear to have been converted into gold by the shimmering dawn.

A protected UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sagarmatha National Park is intersected by the trail. Among the many animals that call it home are Himalayan black bears, Himalayan munal martens, red pandas, musk deer, and snow leopards.

From the summit of Gokyo Ri, we have some of the most breathtaking views in the world of the surrounding peaks and terrain, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, and Cho Oyo mountains.

Kathmandu Valley UNESCO Sightseeing

The Kathmandu Valley The tour of sights will begin early in the morning. We will be visiting the sacred Pashupatinath temple for the first time. One of the four most significant religious locations in Asia for followers of Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath is devoted to him. The site itself is supposed to have existed since the beginning of the millennium when a Shiva lingam was found here. The building was constructed in the fifth century and later restored by Malla monarchs. Situated near the banks of the Bagmati River, this site holds great religious significance for the Hindu community. The Pashupatinath temple has numerous minor shrines outside of the main temple and is constructed in the pagoda style of architecture. Many Hindus also have their cremations there, which are occasionally visible.

The sacred Bouddhanath stupa serves as the tour’s nest site. One of the biggest and most distinctive stupas in the world, the Buddhist Boudha Stupa dominates the skyline.Around Bouddhanath, more than fifty Gompas (Tibetan monasteries) have been built as a result of the massive influx of Tibetan refugees. The Stupa is located along the historic trade route that leads from Tibet into the northeastern corner of the Kathmandu Valley, where the settlement of Sankhu is located. For many generations, Tibetan traders have come here to rest and give prayers. Many of the Tibetan refugees who came to Nepal in the 1950s settled in the area surrounding Boudhanath. It is reported that Kassapa Buddha’s remains are interred in the stupa.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is the next location on the itinerary. Due to a statue of Hanuman, the monkey devotee of Lord Ram, located at the entrance of the royal palace, the square is also known as the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square. Important events like the crowning of the Nepalese monarch took place at the Durbar at Durbar Square, which served as the royal residence of the Nepalese until the 19th century. Here are the King Tribhuwan Memorial Museum and the Mahendra Museum, which are housed in a palace ornamented with intricately carved wooden windows and panels.

The temples and palaces in the plaza have frequently undergone renovation after suffering damage from weather-related events or neglect. At the moment, the square contains fewer than ten quadrangles. An estimated 7.9-magnitude earthquake struck the area on April 25, 2015, seriously damaging the Square and destroying other buildings. The temples constructed by King Mahendra Malla (1560–1574) are the oldest in the square. These are the Taleju Temple, Kotilingeswara Mahadev, Jaggannath, and Mahendreswara temples. Over time, as several monarchs ruled, the Square saw an increasing number of temples and monuments constructed to it. It is among the most exquisite displays of Nepalese art and distinctive Newa architecture.

The Swayambhunath Stupa, an ancient holy structure at the summit of a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city, will be the tour’s final stop. Among Buddhist pilgrimage locations, Swayambhunath is arguably the most revered, particularly among Tibetans and adherents of Tibetan Buddhism.Sweating and panting, we staggered up the final steep steps and nearly tripped over the largest vajra (thunderbolt scepter) I had ever seen. Beyond this Vajra lay the great, round, white dome of the stupa, resembling a full, solid skirt, with two enormous Buddha eyes perched atop it, wisely surveying the tranquil valley that was just starting to come to life.  A stupa and other shrines and temples, some of which date back to the Licchavi era, make up the complex.
