Our next destination is the highly regarded Memorial Chorten, also known as Buddha Point, where the statue of Buddha Dordenma is situated and provides a stunning view of the Thimphu valley. Inside the imposing three-story throne are numerous chapels, and 125,000 little Buddha figurines adorn the statue’s torso.

The National Library, the School of Traditional Arts, and the nation’s symbolic animal are displayed in Takin Reserve, which comes next.

The afternoon offers you the chance to take in more of the sights and culture of the capital, including a visit to Simtokha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s oldest defenses, which was built in 1629 AD.
You should also visit the Folk Heritage Museum and browse the amazing array of beautiful textiles in the National Textile Museum.
