Day 01:
Arrival in Kathmandu
You will be arriving at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. You will be welcomed by our airport representative at the arrival gate. He/she will then reach you to your destined hotel safely. The entire day is at your disposal, and can spend the day as you want to. In the evening you can just take a leisurely stroll and have a good look the tourist hub of Thamel. Later on you return back to your hotel for the night stay and prepare for the next day.

Day 02:
Sightseeing & pre trip briefing Kathmandu
This day is mean for sightseeing, and having a look around the historical, cultura,l and traditional busy city of Kathmandu. After a hearty breakfast, we board a bus and set out for this trip in a special atmosphere and mood. We explore the streets, sipping a cup of tea have a curious look at the local courtyards or durbar squares. Later we visit the relgious sites of the Hindus, the pashupatinath temple, Buddhist monasteries and stupas of Swayambhunath and Bouddhanath. Taking a good look and spending quality time here, we return back to our hotel in the evening.

Day 03:
Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj
A spectacular afternoon flight takes you to Mahendra Airport in Nepalgunj. From the airport we drive through an old village, until we reach our hotel. The hotel stay in the night is comfortable with air-condition ensuring that you get a good night's sleep.

Day 04:
Fly to Simikot & Trek to Dharapori
You get up early in the morning and fly as far as Simikot,Nepal's most remote district, Humla. After meeting our crew, set out for our trek, First we make a climb up from the airstrip on a rocky trail past fields of barley and wheat. Following a long steep descent we cross past the Dandaphoya. The trekking trail leads us through walnut and apricot trees, until we reach the scattered village of Dhara Pokhari. This place is divided by the Yakba Khola. Once we are here we make a camp here for a night stay.

Day 05:
Trek to Salli Khola
Leaving the campsite crossing the slope, we follow the river to a waterfall near the shepherds' camp at Chachera. From here the trail climbs over a ridge and bypasses the village of Kermi. Next we enter a big valley with walled fields of potato and buckwheat. Passing through a sparse pine forest we descend down towards the ridge that leads all way to the Salli Khola. We camp by the river to spend a night.

Day 06:
Trek to Muchu
Today we cross the river up and over a rocky ridge. We then descend down towards the Humla Karnali. Here we have to cross the ridge to be at the sandy meadow. The goat herders are seen grazing their herds and camp by the riverside. Beyond the meadow the valley narrows and cross several more ridges, passing the villages of Yalbang and Yangar. The trail then winds up above the river. A crossover is made at a suspension bridge that connects us to the village of Muchu. We make our camp in this area to rest overnight.

Day 07:
Trek to Sipsip
Following a trail over a ridge we leave Muchu, which takes us to the Tumkot Khola. The trekking trail from here on is set on a rocky streambed before we make a steep climb and reach Palbang. Passing through yellow mustard fields of palbang is refreshing. The trail also passes through the small settlement of Yari and beyond. An ascent awaits us up the valley that takes us towards the Nara Lagna pass, the Nara Lagna. We make a camp below the pass in a bounty meadow known as Sipsip.

Day 08:
Trek over Nara la pass, camp at Hilsa
A steep ascent awaits us, as we tread on to reach the Nara la pass. We make a steep and rugged descent from the top towards the Karnali River. A short distance from the river, we see the stone pillars that forms the boundary between Nepal and China. It is a spectacular place to camp overnight at Hilsa.

Day 09:
Trek to Manepema
In the morning we pass through the check post of Hilsa that connects the trail from sher to the limi valley. The trail here is quite uneven, heading northeast towards the Humla Karnali River. From here the stunning views of Himalaya is welcoming and sightings of good blue sheep and snow leopards is rewarding. Being overwhelmed and satisfied by memorable glance we reach out towards Manepeme. Overnight in a camp.

Day 10:
Trek to Til
The trail here is a bit strenuous as it weaves in and out of ravines on the side of the valley. We carefully make a gradual climb towards the foot of the rock place. The trail that leads to Til is set down and cross the slopes amidst a tiny stream. A climb over the two rocky ridges is inevitable and demanding. After a short descend from here we reach the two chortens reminds us that we are close to Til Chu. From here the first views of Til Gompa across the valley is fascinating. We descend down to camp at the intersection of Takchi chu and Til chu.

Day 11:
Trek to Limi
The 11th day of the trail starts with a trek towards the river of Takchi. We cross over using a a wooden bridge, and walk pass the barley field of Halji. Here catching glimpses of serene willow plantation of willow trees and Rijziling Gompa is wonderful. The Gompa dates back to 1000 years and is inhibited by 30 monks serving here without much of a fuss. Trekking further to a small village of Sunkhani we finally reach the beautiful village Limi.

Day 12:
Trek from Limi to Yang
Though the village is beautiful the surrounding valley is rockier with making the trail quiet tough and uneven. It holds a staggering canopy of excellent pine, birch and maple trees. An uphill trek from here takes us to the campsite area that has hot springs. It’s a soothing opportunity to take a dip in this warm hot springs.

Day 14:
Trek to Talung
Today we make a short climb over a rocky ridge. Leaving Yang we trek towards the village of Talung. It was an overlooked and deserted village in the past, traces of which is evident till date. There is little hot spring on the way. Further as we trek and make an ascent for about 1 hour we make it to our camp site at Talung.

Day 15:
Trek and camp at Dhingba
We leave Talung behind and reach out to Dhingba. It is a demanding and a strenuous, long day trek. We will be crossing 3 passes of, Pali La, Kuki la and Sechi la before we arrive at Dhingba. A sense of achievement prevails once we find ourselves at Dhingba you after a difficult trek.

Day 16:
Trek to Yakba
Today we are in for a short and easy trekking trail. We have a good look at the surroundings of Dhingba and head towards our next destination of Yakba. We make a campsite for resting overnight.

Day 17:
Trek to Simikot
This is our final day of our simikot limi trekking journey. We cross ridges, rivers, villages and finally reach Simikot. It’s a celebration time with the trekking staff members. We recollect the fond memories of trekking and bask upon the laurels of completing an enduring trek.

Fly to Nepalgunj & then to Kathmandu
An early morning rise is obvious, as we fly to Nepalgunj to board a connecting flight to Kathmandu. It is a 45 minute scenic flight that passes through splendid mountain peaks and diverse landscapes. Upon arrival we head towards the destined hotel for an overnight.

Rest and Exploration
This penultimate day of Simikot Limi valley trekking is all about a leisurely exploration of the surroundings in Kathmandu. After going through places,narrow by lanes, tasting local delicacies, and shopping you return back to your hotel. Overnight at Hotel

Final departure
It is a day of mixed emotions as you bid farewell to Kathmandu for the last time. Our airport representative will see you off to the airport safely. You will catch a flight back home taking back memories of this splendid journey in your memories forever.

How difficult is the Simikot Limi Valley trekking?
The Simikot Limi Valley trek is a considerably challenging trek circuit. The trek is very remote and fairly long. You will be trekking for 6-7 miles per day and the going is often strenuous. A good level of fitness is required.

The best time to undertake this trek is in summer, between March and September. Limi Valley lies in the rain shadow region; hence trekking is possible even in the monsoon season of June to August.

What about group sizes?
That depends upon your choices. If you want a small group we will arrange it. But somehow the minimum size should be 2 and maximum 12 members. In certain cases, we will run 1 person but we recommend you to not trek alone. Travelling in groups is always recommended and advisable.

Permits are required, costing $50 a week. With permits in limited supply, one needs to acquire it on first cum fist serve basis

Is altitude sickness a risk?
The Simikot Limi Valley trek is a long, high altitude trek. At its highest point, Nyalu La Pass, you will reach an altitude of 5,000 meters (16,400 feet). Considering the length of the trek and its difficulties acclimatizing at regular intervals lowers the risk of altitude sickness. It is pretty evident that it does involve a bit of risk but with our way of sensible trekking it is safe and sound.
