How many guides and porters will be there in our group?
The number of guides and porters depends upon the size of the group. Generally a group will have a group leader or a guide, and Porters for carrying your baggage packs and all the camping gear. One porter will carry two trekkers’ baggage.
How many liters of water do I have to carry for Kathmandu Valley Rim Trek?
Mostly 3-4 liters is sufficient. You will be able to refill bottles at lunch time. When you are in high altitude you have to drink more water to get rid of altitude sickness.
Do I need a trekking pole?
Yes you do need a trekking pole, it helps you save energy in high ascend and descend, if you have weak hips and knees and it helps to reduce the strain.
Why is it a better idea to trek with an agency rather than trekking independently?
Trekking independently is doable, but involves seen and unforeseen risks. On the other hand trekking with the recognized agencies gives you the advantage of trekking under a systematic and a well-planned schedule. Most of the time, you will be travelling with a group.
The agency will also provide you with a guide and a porter. Trekking with an agency will be a little more expensive than trekking independently or solo.

Which seasons are best to visit Nepal for Kathmandu Valley Rim Trek?
Autumn (Sept to Nov) and spring (Feb to April) are considered to be the best seasons to visit Nepal for trekking. As autumn brings clarity after monsoon washes away the dust and bugs; spring days are warmer and longer which allows you to explore for longer hours.

How many miles do we walk every day?
It varies with each trip of course. On an average we cover 4–7 hours per day, with a lunch break of 1–2 hours in the middle.
Are there any age restrictions?
No, there aren’t any age restrictions. We design a trek for children/teenagers/ pensioners.
Is it okay to take photographs of the people in local villages in and around the Kathmandu Valley Rim Trek circuit?
Yes, it is ok and they really get a kick out of seeing themselves in print but please ask permission first! If you take photographs, please make copies and send them back to us and we will make sure they get delivered to the people on your trek.
Is the water safe to drink?
Your guide will be in charge of all your water needs. He will make sure all water is boiled and treated with iodine. Iodine is 100% effective in killing the bacteria in water.
Can we change the Kathmandu Valley Rim Trek itinerary?
Absolutely yes, we do customize the itinerary as per your wish. However you need to inform it in advance before the trek starts. Sometimes, because of unforeseen circumstances in the mountains, we need to change the itinerary. However, the date of trek completion should always be in line with the pre-established itinerary.
Is it possible to communicate to my family while trekking?
You can have easy access to communication but in remote areas we use satellite phone. So communication won’t be an issue.
Is tipping compulsory for guides and porters?
Tipping is not necessary although tipping for guide and staff is good practice, porter and guide expect tip, your tip helps their family.
