The majestic beauty, perfect, giver, nourishing Himalayas of Nepal. As it’s name suggests and translates in Sanskrit, it has become the same and much more in the world of travel. It is a paradise for trekkers and adventure seekers.
It just doesn’t cover the beautiful peaks in the Annapurna range but also has pure blue green rivers flowing swift along and across it, Kali Gandaki river creating a belt in the West and Marshyangdi on the North East. ANNAPURNA RANGE is humongous 55 km long which includes Annapurna I ( 10th highest peak in the world , 8,091 meters above sea level.) , 13 more peaks over 7000 meter, 16 more peaks over 6000 meter.

This majestic beauty can be appreciated from the Pokhara valley which lies in south. The Annapurna treks are both long and short which are famous world wide. They can be customized according to the travelers need. The main trekking areas in Annapurna Region are Annapurna circuit trek, Annapurna sanctuary trek also known as Annapurna base camp ( ABC) trek. Treks which can all be started from base point Pokhara are mustang trek, Manang trek, Ghorepani trek, Ghandruk trek. The completion of trek in Annapurna circuit can take from 8-18 days depending on your availability of time. Annapurna circuit trek also boasts of Thorang la pass at the height of 5416 meters from sea level which is the highest point on the trek. The pass itself is made with two famous mountains khatung Kang and Yakawa kang giving the pass it’s glistening white snow covered beauty. As it is not just a commute between Manang mustang but also a famous trade point from ancient times. You can find shops around it. Thorang la pass is also important from accommodation to acclimatize perspective for your body as you trek along the Annapurna circuit. This has made it’s surrounding area bustling with hotels and eateries. The pass connects two famous destination of Himalaya's Manang and mustang, tranquil beauty in its own.

Most recently the region has also become famous for bike riders along Pokhara to mustang and jeep along the same. Up to Manang travelers can also opt for jeep from Pokhara, where either they can continue the long trek or if wished can come back the same route. The tranquil Manang and mustang surrounded by the beautiful mountain, a view from your hotels window feels as if almost you are able to touch it as both the valleys lie just at Annapurna ranges foot hills.

Since Pokhara is the base point for all the trek in the Annapurna region, being in itself a valley with treasures of
scenic beauty. One can always plan a day rest after or before the trek here and enjoy the far majestic view of Annapurna range while taking part in adventurous activities like paragliding, bungee jumping. If someone wants peace and quiet from the or to start the journey Pokhara also boasts of Phewa lake, temples and gumbas. Pokhara being the main commute for most of the amazing trek to Annapurna region also has local to international cuisine serving restaurants and quiet a night life, if one wants to enjoy the happy hippie life underneath mountains and clear bright skies. After Pokhara one can also look forward to making Manang and mustang second start point for  numerous short treks. Manang boasts of Gangapurna mountain, Bhojo Gompa milarepa cave, Gangapurna glacier and a two day trek to Tilicho Lake – worlds highest lake at 4919 meter from sea level. Similarly, Mustang is also famous for the Muktinath temple, trek to upper mustang which requires separate permit, Tukuche peak, the famous bike ride Pokhara to mustang, Jhomsom and Kagbeni.

Since Annapurna circuit trek is vast, one can plan for trek all around the year. So much so that, even during monsoon treks can be organised to certain parts of the circuit. This is all possible because of the gigantic region that Annapurna mountains cover giving it a diverse geographical advantage leading to the favorable weather conditions for trekking. As the popularity of these regions for trek has increased, the villages along the trek route also have internet access and 3 G networks. Leaving the stress of communication problems at bay.

As any trek we go on there are certain things to keep in mind for Annapurna trek as well. The things that should be carried are permit for the trek which can be taken from Nepal tourism ministry, torch lights for walking early morning or late nights as trekking early can save you from scorching heat and avoid dehydration. Make sure you wear a good inner layer and outer layer of clothing to protect you from cold and adjust to the temperature as you trek in the geographical changes as you walk across the majestic. Proper trekking shoes is a must as the trail is made of rusty mountains along deep and swift rivers.

In the mountains the glistening snow though scenic can make it hard to filter and focus, so carry sunglasses. Though you do get porters who are more than happy to help with your baggage, in any trek it’s preferred if you carry low weight bag pack. If you are travelling with a guide or through good travel companies, almost all guide have medications and first aid but it’s always good to carry few for safety. These are the basic necessities you can check on before beginning the adventure of your life and definitely ending the trek with memories for life time, perhaps a becoming travel bug through beauties of these mystic mountains – Annapurna range.
