Zoo

Vietnam’s long, lush countryside runs about 1,650 kilometers from south to north and about 50 km from west to east. Containing both tropical and sub-tropical climates, Vietnam is home to a wide array of wildlife. Whether you’re just curious about the country’s native wildlife or would like to visit a local zoo or safari, we cover the best below.
What is the largest zoo in Vietnam?
The Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens
The Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens (French: Jardin botanique et zoologique de Saïgon, Vietnamese: Thảo Cầm Viên Sài Gòn) is Vietnam's largest zoo and botanical garden.
The Hanoi Zoo
Hanoi Zoo, popularly known as the Thu Le Zoo as it is located within the Thu Le Park, is a lush green mass of land with a beautiful range of trees.
Saigon Zoo, Ho Chi Minh City
Home to 550 types of animals and 1,830 kinds of trees, the Saigon Zoo has been open for over a century since 1869. The botanical garden section has many rare and valuable plants, some of which come from as far as Africa or the Americas. The zoo portion of the property has several animals, including monkeys, tigers, giraffes, lions, turtles, snakes, and more. Also on the premises is the Museum of Vietnamese History, with 15 rooms with numerous artifacts, weapons, and documents.
Phu Quoc Vinpearl Safari & Zoo
The Phú Quốc Safari has to be the best zoo I have ever had the chance to visit! I’ve been to many wildlife parks all over the world but this one blew me away. Excellent for kids or adults to spend a full day here in Phú Quốc Vietnam . You can dine with giraffes at the Phú Quốc Zoo. The Vinpearl Safari is the largest zoo in Vietnam. This 380 acres wildlife park is home to more than 3000 animals in over 150 different species. Some I have never seen before. The park consists of 2 parts, an open zoo and a Safari Park. They also have a kid zoo where it is safe to let your kids pet some goats. Apparently it’s completely safe and they won’t bite you. I asked to make sure. They have some little baby cubs here as well.
